Video Paper

The files vidpap.mp and vidpap.tex are for generating ruled paper in approximately the same proportion as the 640 × 480 pixel window needed for MPEG videos, and sized to fit onto a sheet of DIN A3 paper. DIN (Deutsche Industrienorm = German Industrial Norm) A3 is 42 × 29.7cm. 640 divided by 480 is 1.3333… The ruled area is 35 × 26cm. 35 divided by 26 is 1.34615…

I've put cross-hairs in the center and at the four corners. The graphic can be scaled down to DIN A4 == 29.7 × 21cm.

Perspective Graph Paper

The files graph.ldf and graph.tex are for generating perspective graph paper. The image represents the x-z plane. The focus is located at (-5, 10, -15), the direction of view is (-5, 10, 10) and the distance from the picture plane is 12.5 (all values in centimeters). It would be easy to generate other views just by changing the parameters of the focus. The labels need some work.

Plain Graph Paper

GNU 3DLDF can also be used for generating plain graph paper. It's possible to do this with MetaPost alone, but I sometimes find it convenient to use 3DLDF for 2D graphics. The file graph.ldf contains commented-out code for generating this plain graph paper. Here too, the labels need some work.
