Installing GNUMP3d

Platforms

There's a list of all the supported, or tested, platforms in the FAQ. If you are on one of those then you should be able to run GNUMP3d without any problems. (Essentially the softare should run as advertised under all Unix platforms with a recent version of Perl, and additionally Microsoft Windows platforms higher than Windows NT 4).

If you try the software on a new platform then I'd be very greatful if you could report it to me

Installation

Once you have downloaded the source code, (or retrieved it through CVS), you should be able to install the software with a simple 'make install' on a typical Unix platform.

More detailed information is contained in the INSTALL file contained within the download.

If you wish to run the software under Microsoft Windows you should probably read the Windows README too, and optionally the guide to running as a service.
