A toolbar item that separates groups of other toolbar items
A <gtk-separator-item>
is a <gtk-tool-item>
that separates groups
of other <gtk-tool-items>

horizontally docked toolbars.
If the property "expand" is #t

forces other items to the ends of the toolbar.
